The water coming out of their faucets tasted awful, complained residents of a Mexico City apartment building.
Local health workers went to check the high rise’s water tank, and inside found the badly decomposing body of Carmen Yarira Esparza Noirega, a 27-year-old clinic worker who dreamed of becoming an actress.
Friends and family members had been using a social media campaign to find the missing psychology graduate since she went missing nearly a year ago after leaving work.
Three weeks ago, after the rotting body was found, Noreiga’s parents identified the remains as belonging to their daughter, Fox Latino News reported Monday, citing the Mexican newspaper El Milenio.
Relatives were able to recognize her because of her hip and breast implants, according to police.
