A woman whose skeletal remains were found stuffed into a charred suitcase in a burned-out Brooklyn building nearly two years ago now has a name, police said Tuesday.
The badly decomposed body of Erica McDaniel, 30, was discovered inside 174 Hull St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant on March 23, 2013, shortly after the property was sold, cops said.
McDaniel was identified through DNA testing. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
At one time, McDaniel lived on Bedford Ave. near Greene Ave., but she also spent time in her native Kansas. McDaniel was arrested in the city in 2011, her last known contact with the NYPD, police said.
Cops ask anyone with information on McDaniel to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
