One of two teens accused of beating a World War II veteran to death in a Washington state parking lot has pleaded guilty to the callous killing.
Kenan Adams-Kinard, 17, entered his plea in Spokane on Wednesday almost a year and a half after 88-year-old Delbert (Shorty) Belton was left fatally wounded inside his car on the night of Aug. 21, 2013.
Belton, who heroically fought in the Battle of Okinawa and survived a bullet in his leg, died hours later at a local hospital.

Due to the extreme injuries his attackers inflicted, he had a closed-casket funeral, the Inlander reported.
The teen will likely face 20 years in prison, KXLY reported, after he changed his plea. Prosecutors dropped the robbery and conspiracy charges.
The earliest he's expected to be sentenced is in February. His alleged accomplice, Demetrius Glenn, 17, is scheduled to stand trial next week.
After police said the veteran was jumped, robbed and pummeled outside a Spokane Eagles Lodge, surveillance video captured his twisted attackers making their cowardly getaway on foot.
