HARVARD WALK OF FAME

AUTHOR, CALVIN BACOTE WILL TAKE A WALK IN HISTORY
FEW AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALES HAVE TAKEN!
REFORMED CRIME LORD, COMMUNITY LEADER, AUTHOR,
CALVIN “KLEIN” BACOTE IS SET TO SPEAK AT HARVARD
UNIVERSITY.

New York, NY – Former Brooklyn drug kingpin, Calvin Bacote is set to speak at
Harvard University to discuss the effects of police brutality on today’s nation on
January 17, 2015. Calvin will be representing New York and speaking in regards
to the death of Eric Garner. This precedes the launch of Pree Publishing’s
release of the new edition of his autobiography “Neighborhoods Under Siege.”
This publication recounts Bacote’s notorious past from the child growing up in the
60’s and 70’s to the larger than life character throughout the 80’s and 90’s. He
hopes the unmitigated nature of his book will deter those wishing to follow in his
past footsteps. “Neighborhoods Under Siege” has received heavy press through
various medial outlets such as Vlad TV, MTV News, and Complex.com to name
a few. The book is due to be re-released spring 2015.
After a prosperous career as pop star Akon’s manager, Bacote decided to focus
on his own path to redemption. Using his own notoriety and relationships with
other highly influential individuals in the entertainment industry as a catalyst,
Bacote is focused on giving back to communities in need. He started The New
York Calvin Bacote Foundation. His foundation provides opportunities for
success to urban youth, adults and ex-offenders by supplying resources to the
public, organizing and conducting workshops in the community, mentoring,
speaking to inmates in New York City and State correctional facilities and by

working in conjunction with already established organizations

After visiting the Riker’s Island correctional facility Bacote decided to create the
T.I.M.E. workshop, which focuses on reducing the recidivism rate of exoffenders.
He has worked in association with YPO (Young President’s
Organization), Guns Down Life Up, The Charles Hayden Foundation, Life Camp
and The Progressive Life Center as well as recently speaking on a discussion
panel entitled Black and Blue against police brutality.
Highlighting the difficult adjustments, lack of resources and non-support for these
individuals presents the debate on the relevance of implementing change.
