NYPD: 48-year-old woman found dead in Bushwick apartment, signs of struggle visible at scene

A 48-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her Brooklyn apartment after an apparent struggle on Saturday, cops said.
Ruth Maceira was discovered lying face down on the floor with a stab wound to the neck in her fourth-story apartment on Grove St. near Evergreen Ave. in Bushwick about 11:10 a.m., cops said.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene but the woman could not be saved.
There was no evidence of forced entry, but there were signs that she struggled with an attacker, police said.
A person of interested was taken into custody, authorities announced Sunday morning, but it was not immediately clear what his relationship to the victim was.
