Mother accidentally shot dead by toddler inside Idaho Walmart: sheriff

Surveillance video captured the 2-year-old getting a hold of the firearm inside of 29-year-old Veronica Rutledge's purse as they were shopping together late Tuesday morning, authorities said.

A 2-year-old boy accidentally killed his a 29-year-old mother Veronica Rutledge at a Hayden, Idaho Walmart.FACEBOOKVeronica Rutledge, 29, was shot dead inside of a Hayden, Idaho Walmart Tuesday when her 2-year-old son apparently got a hold of her gun and shot her. 
A mother was shot dead by her 2-year-old son inside of an Idaho Walmart when the toddler apparently reached into her purse and discharged her gun, authorities said.
Veronica Rutledge, 29, had her son seated in a shopping cart while with family Tuesday when surveillance video captured the boy getting a hold of the firearm, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office said.
A preliminary investigation into the shooting around 11:15 a.m. in Hayden has described it as "accidental."
Rutledge, from Blackfoot, Idaho, did have a concealed weapons permit, deputies said at a press conference.

She was in the area visiting family for the holidays when the senseless tragedy occurred, according to local reports.
The Walmart has since closed and has announced plans to reopen Wednesday morning.
