An 80-year-old woman jumped to her death from a Lenox Hill apartment building Tuesday, officials said.
The senior jumped from the ninth floor of the E. 66th St. building near Third Ave. just after 9 a.m. and landed on a second-floor balcony.

The woman jumped from the 9th floor of the apartment building on Tuesday morning.
She died at the scene, officials said. Her name was not immediately disclosed.
Building residents were horrified by the news.
“It’s terrible,” said one tenant who wished not to be named. “It’s depressing. Why would someone do that?”
The woman had threatened to hurt herself before she jumped from the rear of the building, police sources said.
