Joni Mitchell performs during an all-star tribute concert for Herbie Hancock Oct. 28, 2007.
After news that Joni Mitchell was "awake and in good spirits" after being found unconscious in her home March 31, reports are now saying that she is unresponsive and not getting better.
The "Big Yellow Taxi" singer's friend Leslie Morris has reportedly filed for conservatorship over the artist according to TMZ.
The documents filed allegedly say that Mitchell, 71, is "so impaired as to be incapable of being assessed."
Although the reasons behind the medical emergency in March have not been determined, the Grammy Award-winning singer has had a list of medical problems, including being diagnosed with a rare disease where she experiences a crawling and biting sensation on her skin.
The singer's official Twitter said that she was resting comfortable on April 3 and "Her progress is encouraging as she continues to improve each day."
The Canadian performer is set to be presented with the SFJAZZ Lifetime Achievement Award on May 8, for her influence on musicians over the years.
