Michael Jordan is one of the all-time NBA greats and isn’t too shabby when it comes to business, either.
Michael Jordan just had his name added to another impressive list.
The former Bulls star, who has NBA record-career averages for regular-season scoring (30.12) and playoff scoring (33.45), has been included onForbes magazine's billionaires list for the first time.
MJ had a net worth of $1 billion, according to the magazine, to land at No. 1,741. Forbes said it calculated each person’s wealth based on stock prices and exchange rates on Feb. 13, 2015.
The six-time NBA champion, who is one of 290 newcomers to the list, is the majority shareholder in the Charlotte Bobcats. Although Jordan has deals with Gatorade, Hanes and Upper Deck, his main money-maker is Nike.
The richest team owner on the list is Steve Ballmer (No. 35, $21.5 billion), who bought the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014 following the Donald Sterling scandal.
