A nanny is facing child abuse charges in Argentina after she was secretly filmed hitting and stealing food from a baby.
Vicious Eve Mantaras, 25, was seen eating the hungry 2-year-old's food after she slapped and backhanded the cowering boy in his highchair.
His mom, Cristina Ceril, 33, had installed the secret camera at the family home in the northeastern city of Parana and linked it to her smartphone after discovering a series of bruises on the youngster.
Neighbors had warned them that 2-year-old and his 10-year-old sibling were often screaming and in tears on most days when they were alone with the nanny.
Police and prosecutors now say the footage will be used in criminal assault and child abuse charges.
Nanny Eve Mantaras was seen slapping a 2-year-old and eating the hungry toddler’s food.
"We would sometimes hear her with our son crying very early in the morning,” Ceril said. “It now makes my blood run cold to think what she might have been doing."
"We always thought she was a bit lazy around the house, but we never imagined for a second that she was violent, too,” she added.
"She actually stole my son's food and then hit him for saying he was hungry. She is sick."
