Whitney Houston’s daughter is “fighting for her life,” her family said in a statement Monday.
Bobbi Kristina Brown “is surrounded by immediate family,” the brief statement said. “Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”
The worrying words came as police revealed that the mystery man who was with Brown’s husband when they found the 21-year-old singer passed out in a bathtub Saturday was a former flame — Nick Lomas.
The incident report released by Roswell, Ga., police did not say what the 24-year-old Lomas, who works as a “tree climber,” was doing at the suburban Atlanta home where Brown lives.
Whitney Houston died in a bathtub after ingesting a cocktail of sedatives on Feb. 11, 2012. Her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was also found unresponsive in a bathtub Saturday by her husband, Nick Gordon (pictured right, with Bobbi).
But Lomas and Gordon, 25, are longtime friends.
Meanwhile, another family friend warned that time was not on Brown’s side.
“All we can do right now is pray,” Sammy Tawil told the Daily News. “I think the next 24 to 48 hours, we hopefully will hear some good news and better news. She’s a fighter, she’s definitely a fighter. She’s a tough little girl.”
Tawil said he’s heard no new updates since Brown, in an aching echo of her famous mother’s tragic death, was found facedown and not breathing Saturday in the tub.
“We're hoping that she'll come through this,” Tawil said. “While she's still breathing, there's still hope. Time will tell.”
Brown, who had hoped to follow in the musical footsteps of her mother and dad, R&B singer Bobby Brown, was reportedly on a ventilator at North Fulton Hospital.
“I guess it's just my wishful thinking that everything will be OK,” said Tawil. “She's too young, she has too much life ahead of her.”
Brown is the only child of Houston, who died three years ago in a Beverly Hills bathtub after ingesting a deadly cocktail of prescription sedatives.
While “Entertainment Tonight” has reported that Brown suffered an apparent accidental drug overdose, Roswell Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Holland told The News on Sunday that detectives scouring Brown’s pad found “nothing... that indicated drugs were involved.”
