A man died Friday after he plummeted from a fourth-floor Midtown office, authorities said.
The man, who is believed to be in his 40s, landed on the sidewalk outside the E. 32nd St. building near Madison Ave. at about 8:50 p.m., officials said.
It’s believed the man jumped, police sources said. Witnesses said they saw reams of papers falling to the ground.
“We heard glass shatter, then a thump,” said Chris Gonzalez, who was having a drink at Dons Bogam, a Korean restaurant on the ground floor of the building. “We turned around and a guy was laying on his stomach on the ground. He didn’t seem to be responding at all..”
First responders rushed the man to Bellevue Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved.
A delivery man for Dons Bogam was hit by glass as it rained down on the street, said Bangia Bar bouncer Sean Smith, who was watching the door when the man plunged from above.
“Somebody across the street was yelling, ‘Don’t do it!’ Then a body landed ... (he) landed on his side, then rolled onto his chest.”
The building holds several offices, including Catch New York, a fourth-floor advertising agency. A company employee refused to comment when reached.
